The Global Rethinking Finance Collaborative (GRFC) is a Geneva-based initiative pioneering a new era of sustainable finance and impact investing. Our mission is simple yet urgent: turn conversations into action by mobilising inclusive, future-fit financing, at speed and at scale.
Rooted in Geneva’s Global Ecosystem
Based in Geneva’s unique ecosystem of international organisations, financial institutions, academia, philanthropy, and civil society, we work across sectors to break silos, build trust, and challenge outdated financial models.
What We Do
We catalyse partnerships and unlock investment to accelerate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and advance global climate action. Our focus is on the “Majority Tercile”, the bottom third of the global wealth pyramid, where most of the world’s young people live.
Our priorities are threefold:
- Transforming Mindsets – Tackling systemic barriers through evidence-driven, policy-relevant dialogue.
- Validating the Model – Connecting global capital with high-impact projects in Africa, Europe, and the Indo-Pacific via regional hubs.
- Ensuring Sustainability – Building the GRFC into a self-sustaining, global force for long-term transformation.
Why It Matters
Today’s global investments are dangerously misaligned with real-world needs. Too much capital fuels unsustainable industries and wealth concentration, while vulnerable communities remain underfunded. Without inclusive and equitable finance, a sustainable future is impossible.
The GRFC exists to change this. We provide the frameworks, networks, and platforms that direct capital towards the people and places where it creates systemic, lasting impact.
How We Work
We move beyond dialogue into design and delivery, combining strategy with on-the-ground action:
- Complex Design Lab – Expert advisory and systems innovation for transformative initiatives.
- Project Enablement – Closing the early-stage financing gap with pipeline development, blended finance, and de-risking mechanisms.
- Regenerative Development – Supporting climate-resilient, locally led models in regions most affected by neglect, conflict, or disaster.
